The National Park of the Mercantour, is located 10 km away from the Grand Hôtel du Parc .
This superb mountain chain , with some peaks reaching 3.000 meters and many lakes, offers a complete change of scenery.
In the Vallée des Merveilles, at the bottom of the Mont Bego, you will find one of the richest mines of outdoor rupestral engravings in Europe, from the Bronze Age. Because the wildlife is protected, the Park National du Mercantour has became an animal kingdom, when hiking, you will come across tribes of ibex and mouflons, along the rivers the marmots, some hares and small herds of cows. The famous hiking path GR 52 cuts across the park.
